TLM Level 3 Award in Overhead Crane Operations / QAN 603/7736/7

The Ofqual Regulated Level 3 award is a qualification designed to equip professional operators with the skills, knowledge, and behaviours that will enable them to stay safe, keep others safe and understand the risks associated with the crane types they are allowed to operate. The units cover a diverse range of activities relating to the health and safety practices at work as well as the laws that would apply to someone in this work environment.

 

Qualification

On successful completion of the course you will be receive a Nationally recognised 

Level 3 Award of Professional Competence in understanding the principles, practice, safe use, and operation of Overhead Cranes.

Course Content (inclusive but not limited to:)

• Current health and safety legislation applicable to an Overhead Crane Operator

• Employer’s duties applicable to Overhead Cranes             

• Employee’s duties applicable to Overhead Cranes  

• Frequency of inspections needed for Overhead Cranes

• Principles of risk assessment applicable to an Overhead Cranes

• Hazards and how to reduce the potential for accidents applicable to Overhead Cranes

• Varied movement, controls and attachments that may be fitted to Overhead Cranes

• Lifting, lowering, movement and controls of Overhead Cranes

• Safe handling of loads

• 8 Hours Guided Learning - including classroom and physical assessment.

• 10 Hours Total Qualification Time

As the teaching and assessment is tailored to the individual the group size will not exceed 3 candidates. (Courses will comply with current Covid-19 Government guidelines).
