Level 3 Award of Professional Competence in understanding the principles, practice, safe use, and operation of Hydraulic Lorry Loaders is Ofqual regulated.

The course is designed for people who require skills and competence in the safe operation of a hydraulic lorry loader, in line with HSE guidelines. As a vocational qualification it is aimed at those wishing to gain a new skill, to better their employment opportunities, or renewing their current qualification.

 

Qualification

  • On successful completion of the course you will be receive a Nationally recognised Level 3 Award of Professional Competence in understanding the principles, practice, safe use, and operation of Hydraulic Lorry Loaders.
     

Course Content (inclusive but not limited to:)

  • The need to train & current legislation

  • Introduction to the Lorry Loader

  • Pre-operational Checks

  • Operator Maintenance Instruction

  • Lifting Equipment/Attachments

  • Siting the Lorry Loader

  • Deployment of Stabiliser Legs

  • Use of Controls

  • Preparing Lorry Loader for Use

  • Operating Lorry Loader

  • Stowing Procedures

  • Preparation for Assessment/Revision

  • Assessment: Theory and Practical

  • Final Administration

Duration

The duration will take into consideration prior knowledge: 

  • Experienced Operator - 8 Hours Guided Learning - including classroom and physical assessment plus 3 hours home study.

  • Novice - 8 Hours Guided Learning - including classroom and physical assessment plus 3 hours home study. Novice timings are a minimum depending on the number of trainees to a maximum of 3.

Group Size

As the teaching and assessment is tailored to the individual the group size will not exceed 3 candidates. (Courses will comply with current Covid-19 Government guidelines).
